I love my Kindle! One day I realized that I really wanted to get back into reading. I’m not sure I’ve read a book since Danni got me to read The Hunger Games (which I LOVED!). I wanted to find books that I would truly enjoy, so I enlisted the help of friends on Facebook! Thanks to them, I now have a HUGE “to read” list. But, back to the Kindle. I choose the Kindle because of its size and portability. I’m not one who likes to hold a book to read. I tried to get my boss to convert, but she just loves the feel and the smell of books…those are some of the reasons I don’t read. This is perfect for me, but it may not be for you. Stick with the paper if that’s what you love!
My first Kindle book was “Waking Up Married” by Mira Lyn Kelly. It was cheesy, but really cute. The relationship dynamic was awesome for me because ever since Romantic Communication and Interpersonal Relationships classes at Bridgewater College, I have been interested in the inter-workings of relationships and couples. If you’re looking for a light and fun read, pick it up! Or get it for your Kindle.
My next two books are the first two in a trilogy (the third isn’t yet written) from Deborah Harkness. “A Discovery of Witches” and “Shadow of Night” were wonderful (long) books. This proves my point about books. I was able to get the first through a library loan on my Kindle (yes! Massanutten Regional Library does have SOME books online). However, I just HAD to read the second and they did not have it to be loaned electronically, so I got the hardcover from JMU’s library.
I am currently reading “Pure” by Julianna Baggott but having a hard time getting into it, but excited to continue! If you do get a Kindle, be sure to check the daily deals…well, daily!
Please list any book recommendations in the comments! I would love to read what your favorites are!
**I am trying Amazon Affiliate Links. Anything I link to is because I have the product and love it. In the future, I may put things that I think are awesome, but do not have. Anyway, if you buy through clicking the link on this page, I get a percentage back. I’m slowly building my store with our favorite products and wish lists, so stay tuned! If you have a suggestion on a store type, please let me know that too. I’m planning on having a Kindle Store, Favorites, and Wish Lists (not for you to buy me, but to buy for yourselves!).
