We have known we wanted to move for years. The opportunity seems like it’s there now. So when we finally decided on dates (based on work schedules, opportunities, and plane ticket prices), we had to move quickly. This means you have to think quickly, which usually gets me overwhelmed because I don’t know where to start. But we talk it out, make some sort of a plan and get started.
Deciding that you are moving to another city can be very unnerving. The actual planning, purging, packing, and looming goodbyes are all things I can’t stop thinking about. Doing all of that while knowing you are moving to another COUNTRY is down-right terrifying. The amount of planning seems ten-fold. But it helps to know deep down that this is what you are meant to be doing.
There’s so much to think about and do. You can’t just pack up everything, well I guess you could, but that’d be incredibly pricey and silly. Of course you have to give notice to the landlord, deal with electric, internet, and cell phone. We are shipping whatever doesn’t fit in our luggage so we are REALLY paring down since size and weight adds price.
So, anyway, we’re trying to live our normal lives while handling details relating to moving. We WANT to try and stay normal. So we’re happy to try and hang out. And we’ll want to stay in touch once we do leave. So, if you have Skype, send us your name so we can put you on our contact list!
